Welcome to the Naseeb Privacy Policy. We built Naseeb to help Muslims find meaningful, marriage-focused connections, and we take the trust you place in us seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and how you can control it.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Naseeb mobile application ("App") and all related services operated by BlackGem LLC ("Naseeb," "we," "us," or "our"). By using Naseeb, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here.

1. Who We Are

Naseeb is operated by BlackGem LLC, a company registered in the United States. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Improvement: Usage analysis, bug fixes, stability monitoring, new features.
  • Communications: Push notifications (matches, messages, likes based on your preferences), transactional emails.

6. Automated Decision Making

Photo Content Moderation

Photos are scanned by AWS Rekognition for prohibited content. Clear passes auto-approve, clear violations auto-reject, borderline cases go to human review. You may appeal any rejection.

Identity Verification

Your selfie is compared to profile photos using facial comparison technology. If verification fails, you may retry or contact support.

Compatibility Scoring

Compatibility is calculated from deterministic factors: age, distance, sect, prayer, ethnicity, education, wants children, marital status, has children, lifestyle attributes. Straightforward matching logic, not machine learning.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Active accounts: Data retained while your account is active.

Account deletion: 30 day grace period for recovery. After 30 days: files removed from storage, database records deleted, auth record removed. Only a hashed phone number retained to prevent banned re-registration.

Paused accounts: Profile hidden from all users, data preserved. Reactivate anytime.

Messages: Permanently deleted when either user deletes their account.

Stories: Auto-deleted 24 hours after creation.

Selfies: Retained for safety. Permanently deleted on account deletion.

8. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: "Download My Data" in Settings provides a full export.
  • Correction: Edit your profile anytime in the App.
  • Deletion: Settings > Account > Delete Account, or email us.
  • Portability: Machine-readable export via data download.
  • Withdraw consent: Revoke location or notification permissions in device settings anytime.

9. Data Security

  • Multi-factor authentication on admin access
  • Regular security audits

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account is compromised, contact us immediately.

10. Cross Border Data Transfers

Naseeb is operated from the United States. Your data is stored and processed on servers in the United States.

11. California Privacy Rights

  • Right to Know: What personal information we collect and why.
  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your data.
  • Non-Discrimination: No penalty for exercising rights.
  • No Sale: We do not sell personal information to third parties.

12. Children's Privacy

Naseeb is restricted to individuals 18 years of age or older. Date of birth is collected at registration. Accounts under 18 are blocked. If we discover data from someone under 18, we delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via the App or email. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version.
